Earth Day was created in 1970 with the purpose of bringing attention to the Earths depleting resources and the impact we make on the Earth.  Fifty years have passed since celebrating the first Earth Day.  In these years immense efforts have been made to help heal the Earth but the fight continues.  A plethora of ways exist for us to do our part, some big and some small.<\/p>\n

The five suggestions below are simple ways you can begin to do your part to help the place we call home!
\n <\/p>\n

Change Your Lightbulbs To LED <\/b><\/h3>\n

Switching from traditional lightbulbs to LED bulbs is not only good for the environment but also good for your wallet.  LED’s use less energy to operate, require lower maintenance, and create a lower strain on the environment.<\/p>\n

Create Your Own Cleaning Products <\/b><\/a><\/h3>\n

Traditional cleaning products that are purchased at the store can be full of harsh, toxic chemicals.  By creating your own cleaning products, you can exclude the harsh chemicals making healthier cleaning products for yourself and the Earth.<\/p>\n

Wash Laundry In Cold Water  <\/b><\/h3>\n

Instead of using hot or even warm water to wash your laundry a simple way to can help the environment is to wash your laundry<\/span> in cold water.  Most of the energy when washing clothes goes to heating the water itself.  By eliminating the heat, you can reduce carbon dioxide emission!<\/p>\n

Unplug Unused Electronics <\/b><\/h3>\n

This may be one of the simplest ways to help the environment.  Unplugging electronics will eliminate power usage and save on your electricity bill.  To make it easier keep everything plugged into a power strip, so you only have to unplug it once! <\/p>\n

Decorate With House Plants <\/b><\/h3>\n

It is no secret that plants and trees help clean the air!  Decorating with house plants is a small way you can help cleanse the air in your space keeping the air you breathe fresh.  A bonus, they are nice to look at!

Doing your part for the environment is important to keep it healthy, clean, and functioning for yourself and future generations.  By incorporating a few of the steps above into your daily life you can make a big change!<\/p>\n
