The holidays are quickly approaching, and the year is coming to an end. There are only two more weeks of 2021 and now is the time to celebrate! One of the most enjoyable parts of the holiday season is inviting friends and family into your home. This can also be one of the most stressful parts if you don’t prepare. If you follow these tips, you’ll be sure to have a holly jolly time!
Cleanliness is king. It may be obvious, but thorough cleaning is often overlooked. One of your house guests may have an animal allergy, so vacuum Fluffy’s hair up off the furniture, rugs, and under the cabinets! It’s also a great time to think about safety, especially if you have elderly guests or small children are visiting! Be sure there are no tripping or choking hazards around your home.
Are your bedrooms set up to host more guests than usual? Your company will appreciate clean bedding and comfortable beds. Whether you use an air mattress, a pull-out cot, or you already have guest bedrooms- sleeping quarters are one of the most important things to consider! Your twenty-year-old nephew may be fine with a blow-up mattress, but your mother-in-law may not. Another great tip is to free up some of those outlets for your guests to use. Everyone travels with a smart phone, smart watch, or a tablet these days and they’ll want to charge them!
Stock the kitchen. Do your guests have dietary concerns that need to be considered? If you know ahead of time you can prepare for your guests eating habits! You can also stock up on midnight snacks, plenty of coffee, and whatever else your guests request.
Hopefully, these tips help you to ensure that the holidays are a breeze and the family time is plentiful and stress-free!
